How long have you been in business?
CAPS Transmission has been serving this area for over 30 years.
What is your primary product or service?
Automatic and standard transmission repair and service. Including systems related to the transmissions. Sensors, axles, computers, drive-shafts, radiators, electronics and others.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have always been interested in vehicles. Over ten years ago, life threw me a curve and I had to make drastic changes. I decided to open a business and explored multiple opportunities. After a year of exploration, I purchased CAPS Transmission and I celebrated my tenth anniversary in November of 2013. I have learned so much and there is so much more to continue my education. The automotive industry never stops evolving and always has something interesting to learn.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Service. Service. Service. We offer free diagnostics and advice. I know it's frustrating when your vehicle is not operating normally. Where to go? Who is trustworthy? What is a fair price? What are the options? CAPS Transmission looks at cars almost everyday that DON'T have a transmission problem. It we can't take care of it, we are happy to steer you in the right direction.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One location, with no plans for expansion at this time.
Provide detailed directions to your location
We are on the north side of Florida Bl., one mile east of Cortana Mall. There is a McDonalds restaurant directly across the street from us. (Who can't spot McDonalds?) We are also about 300 feet west of North Sharp Road.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept credit and debit cards, and checks upon approval. Cash, money orders, and bank checks. (We even make trades, if you have what we need! What 'cha got?)
Which areas do you service?
Baton Rouge and everywhere within 100 miles, even into Mississippi.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
John Alan Shore
What are your hours of operation?
Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM. We answer the phone 24 hours a day for questions and emergencies. (But, please don't wake me up unless it's urgent!)
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
To return for more service. And, to send me a customer after we have taken care of something for them.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
"Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:3,4
